Most turquoise earrings lead with blue, but these Royston ribbon cabochons are predominantly warm tan and rust. Bright turquoise veining runs across the surface in sharp, crackling lines like a river system traced from the air, or the way dry desert ground splits after a long summer. The turquoise isn't the main focus here. It's the interruption, and what makes these stones worth looking at twice.

Each cabochon was cut to keep the stone in its host rock, which is what puts the veining on display. Royston ribbon turquoise is hand-selected for that patterning, and no two stones cut this way will ever look the same.

A small textured bar and paired silver spheres sit above each bezel-set stone, connecting the drop to the ear wire. The bar carries the same fine linear texture that runs through the metalwork.

Hallmarked Blue Piranha and .925. Earrings measure 1¾ inches (4.5 cm) long from the top of the ear wire, and ½ inch (1.3 cm) wide. Weight is 10.6 grams. Set on sterling silver ear wires.
