This Turkish chalcedony teardrop cabochon is opaque, its depth coming not from translucency but from layers within the stone itself: pale cream and warm gray areas that seem to hold light, set against deep brown-black sections that recede like shadow or distance. The effect is geological and painterly at the same time, a landscape captured in mineral form.

This stone comes from Turkey, one of the few sources producing chalcedony with this kind of interior complexity, and was cut in the United States by a skilled lapidary who understood that a stone like this needs a cutter willing to follow what's already there rather than impose a shape on it. It's a thick, substantial gem and that's deliberate, preserving the depth of the layering rather than sacrificing it for a slimmer profile.

Two border elements surround the bezel, and the combination gives the setting a quiet presence without competing with the stone's interior. Above, a handmade bail with a dotted texture accommodates a variety of chain and cord options and suits the substantial scale of the pendant.

Hallmarked Blue Piranha and .925. The pendant measures 2 inches (5.1 cm) long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant, and just under 1¼ inches (3.2 cm) wide. Weight is 15.1 grams. 

Each pendant is available without a chain, so you may use your own if you prefer. If you want to add a chain, I offer different lengths and styles. Every chain comes with a 2-inch extender so you can vary the length. Please choose your chain from the options at checkout.
