Chrysocolla in its most direct form: vivid blue-green split open by deep brown. These triangular cabochons are slightly shield-shaped, and the color contrast runs straight through them. Bright blue-green dominates the upper half, then gives way to warm, dark brown in irregular patches and veins. It reads less like a gradient and more like a collision, two colors that have no intention of blending, held together in a clean bezel.

Each stone was hand-selected for the quality and clarity of that contrast. Chrysocolla's color range is wide and variable, and the stones that show this kind of clean division between the blue-green and the matrix are the ones worth keeping.

A curved, textured bar sits above each bezel, a single horizontal element with a small silver sphere at center. It keeps the transition from stone to ear wire deliberate rather than incidental.

Hallmarked Blue Piranha and .925. Earrings measure 1½ inches (3.8 cm) long from the top of the ear wire, and ¾ inch (1.9 cm) wide. Weight is 10.5 grams. Set on sterling silver ear wires.
