Peruvian Opal, Sterling Silver Pendant, Articulated Kinetic Necklace, Gem Lover Jewelry, Boulder Opal Boho

Three blue-green, organically shaped, colorful Peruvian opal cabochons are bezel set into darkly oxidized backgrounds, with an assortment of small spheres floating on the surfaces. All three gems move independently. 

These gem "pebbles" have been in my personal stash for a number of years. Each one is interesting in shape, color, or pattern (or sometimes all three!). I wanted to experiment with a jointed connection for some time, and these were the perfect test subjects. :) 

I shaped the backings to loosely follow each gem's shape, and floated more, or fewer, spheres around them, wherever they seemed appropriate, aiming for a very organic, loose / boho vibe. Though many of them are longer lengths, they are relatively lightweight because of the small gem size, and they will wear beautifully whether alone or layered with other pendants.

The pendant measures just under 3 inches, or 7.6 cm, long (from top of bail to bottom of pendant), and 3/4 inch, or 1.7 cm, wide. 

Each pendant is available without a chain, so you may use your own if you prefer. If you want to add a chain, I offer different lengths and styles. Every chain comes with a 2-inch extender, so you can vary the length.

About Peruvian opal: 

This particular blue boulder opal is found only in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Its hues range from bright blues to soft, almost aqua greens. It can be fully opaque or lightly translucent. It's a "boulder" opal as the opal itself remains entwined with its brown host rock, giving this gem lovely and diverse color patterns.
