A dragon swallowing its own tail. The image is ancient, and it means what it looks like: no beginning, no end, the eternal return of everything that lives and dies and comes around again.

The ouroboros is one of the oldest allegorical symbols in recorded history, appearing in ancient Egypt, in Gnostic texts, in Norse mythology, and in alchemical manuscripts across medieval Europe. It represents infinity, wholeness, and the continuous cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. It also carries a more immediate meaning: nothing is truly lost. Energy transforms. The circle completes.

The dragon brings its own symbolism to that shape. Across cultures, the dragon has been a guardian and protector, a symbol of luck, knowledge, and power. In many Eastern traditions it's a benevolent force, a keeper of wisdom rather than a destroyer. On this pendant, the dragon doesn't threaten — it holds the circle.

The pendant is cast from a vintage button. 

Cast in sterling silver, hallmarked Blue Piranha and stamped .925. The pendant measures 1 inch (2.5 cm) from top to bottom. The diameter of the circle is just under ¾ inch (1.9 cm), slightly smaller than a U.S. penny. Weight is 3 grams.
