Crazy lace agate earns its name through intricate swirling bands that fold and loop across the surface. Its patterns are always fascinating, but this cabochon steps the drama up to another level, as the ribbons move through a soft pink, deep red, dark gray, and white — a palette collectors watch for because pink coloring in this stone is genuinely uncommon. Near the center, a natural crystal pocket (known as a "vug) opens in the surface, a left exactly as the nature made it.

Below the agate, a round wine-red garnet cabochon sits in its own bezel, the color a echoing the rich hues above it. Between and below the two stones, silver granules are clustered in an organic, tapering pattern that extends to the pendant's lower point, giving the composition a deliberate downward movement. A line-textured rim follows the contour of the agate above, and a handmade hammer-textured bail completes the setting.

Hallmarked Blue Piranha and .925. The pendant measures 2 inches (5.1 cm) long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant, and 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide. Weight is 14.3 grams.

The palette typically runs toward reds, tans, and warm neutrals, with occasional gray and white. Pink coloring is uncommon and considered among the more sought-after variations. No two stones produce the same pattern, and specimens with a natural crystal pocket, or vug, intact are rarer still.
