Agate Geode Pendant, Sterling Silver, Black White Druzy Slice, Handmade Art Jewelry, Statement Necklace
Description
This agate slice is thicker than most, and the setting was made to show it. The bezel has been cut low in places to let the natural sides of the stone remain visible, so the pendant carries a sense of geological depth that a fully enclosed setting would have hidden. The surface pattern is black, white, and gray, the banding moving in soft, swirling arcs with a druzy pocket at the center, and the pocket is filled with a cluster of silver spheres that anchor the eye without closing off the interior.
This is a stone that has weight to it, in hand and in presence.
The backing has been hand-scalloped to follow the natural shape of the geode, with a textured surface and a deliberate dark patina that deepens the contrast between the frame and the stone's pale and dark interior. Silver spheres travel around the scalloped perimeter, and a simple open ring bail above keeps the pendant light and versatile on any chain.
Hallmarked Blue Piranha and .925. The pendant measures 2 inches (5.1 cm) long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant, and 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide. Weight is 13.5 grams.
Each pendant is available without a chain, so you may use your own if you prefer. If you want to add a chain, I offer different lengths and styles. Every chain comes with a 2-inch extender so you can vary the length. Please choose your chain from the options at checkout.
Your purchase arrives gift boxed, presented in a soft pouch with a story card.
Good for: the woman who wants her jewelry to have more than just visual presence. The collector who gravitates toward stones with a geological story. The person who's interested in geology as much as beauty.

About Agate Slices:
Geode slices are thin cross-sections of agate geodes from Brazil, cut to reveal the banding and crystal formations inside. The patterns vary from stone to stone — no two geodes produce the same interior — and most have a central druzy pocket where fine crystals formed as the geode developed. Agate is a hard, durable chalcedony that takes a high polish and is found worldwide, but Brazilian geodes are particularly prized for the range and clarity of their banding.
